NETWORKING - INPUT - COOPERATION - SUPPORT - QUALITY OF LIFE

PfCONA was formed in 1985 by Pflugerville residents who wanted to provide a forum for neighborhood groups to collectively air their concerns and work with the City Council to resolve problems.

Its goal was to bring the community together. This goal continues today. Won't you join us in "building the community together?"

PfCONA VOLUNTEERS & COMMITTEES

Each PfCONA member, associate member, and honorary member is encouraged to play a role in at least one event or task for a particular committee below during a given year. Click here for a "Volunteer Opportunities" brochure that describes PfCONA's mission and activities in more detail.

Volunteer membership- and committee-related objectives include establishing networking systems with neighborhood organizations, civic organizations, churches, crime watch programs, interested individuals and other entities, in order to maintain a desirable quality of life in the greater Pflugerville area.  Communication and joint efforts with the various stakeholders in the community will bring about change in the Pflugerville area.  "The more at the table, the greater the dialogue."

  • PfCONA "Communications" Committee:  Formed to promote sharing of information between the city staff and neighborhoods and the broader community, including taping forums and showing on Cox Cable Channel 10. Volunteers are being recruited to serve as a video crew. The current volunteers have already taped Town Meetings, School Board Candidate Forums, City Council Candidate Forums, Downtown Development Forums, Disaster Preparedness Forums, and a City Comprehensive Plan Meeting.

In relation to the committee's efforts, Neighborhoods are encouraged to offer news regarding their own subdivision/area and pass on what they receive to the households in their area. Contact Communication Chair, Clay Leben, about this important opportunity.

  • PfCONA "Safety" Committee:  Formed to promote Welcome Packet Program, Neighborhood Watch and Training, National Night Out and Packet Stuffing, Citizens on Patrol, Victim Services, Emergency/Disaster Preparedness, and Crime Prevention programs in subdivisions. Neighborhoods are encouraged to form a Safety Committee in their own subdivision/area also. Contact PfCONA Secretary/Treasurer, Nancy Ramsey, about this important opportunity.

  • PfCONA "Special Projects" Committee:  Formed to: solicit speakers for meetings and training; put and judge Holiday Lights Contest; floats in parades; Project VOTE!; co-host community events; and, develop other special events. Contact PfCONA Vice Chair, Jeff Sims, about this important opportunity.

  • PfCONA "Membership Services" Committee: Involves addressing board and member issues and concerns such as Association Support & Training, Membership Recruitment, and Neighborhood Survey.

  • PfCONA "Executive" Committee:  The Executive Committee is composed of PfCONA Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary/Treasurer, Committee chairs, and supported by sponsors. The committee has chosen to meet quarterly and its meetings are open to members.  The committee is focused on infrastructure, planning, and membership issues and concerns.

  • 2002 Ad Hoc Bylaws Committee:  Was led by 2002 PfCONA Chair, Rick Allgeyer to revise PfCONA bylaws. Click here for Purpose-Bylaws page.

Click here for Officer/Sponsor contact information.

Currently, no additional committee meetings are planned. Discussion will take place at PfCONA meetings or special called meetings.
