Pflugerville Council of Neighborhood Associations - PfCONA
PfCONA was formed in 1985 by residents who wanted a forum for neighborhood groups to collectively air their concerns and work with the City Council to resolve problems.
In 2011, PfCONA will meet bi-monthly (odd number months) on the second Monday, 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Pflugerville Justice Center Courtroom (January, March, May, July, September, November). We also are planning an April Candidate Forum for Place 2 & 4.
Vision
PfCONA's vision is BUILDING COMMUMNITY TOGETHER.
Mission
The mission of the Pflugerville Council of Neighborhood Associations (PfCONA) is to serve as a medium to increase citizen input and involvement in area planning and policy formation, and to facilitate cooperation and communication between various governmental entities in and around the greater Pflugerville area. The committee addresses the role in neighborhoods in identifying and addressing quality of life issues.
A great place to live is not an accident. Weeds grow in a garden too so its up to citizens to work and talk together about what they want their town to be. For 25 years, PfCONA has been a forum for discussion about challenges our neighborhoods have like safety, traffic, environment, zoning, growth, peace, and cooperation. In 2010 PfCONA program topics included two candidate forums, HOA board basics and possible state legislation, disaster readiness and crime prevention, cutting bills with home energy/water efficiency, the 2010 Census, and speakers from many nonprofits told us about their valuable programs.
